OPTICAL ANISOTROPY AND BIREFRINGENCE OF CuAlS2 CRYSTALS

Optical spectra were investigated in a spectral range of (300 - 700) nm for CuAlS2 single crystals. Transmission and wavelength modulated transmission demonstrated presence some impurity absorption bands the region optical transparency functions (real imaginary components dielectric function, refractive index extinction coefficient) have been calculated from reflection by means Kramers-Kronig relations. A strong anisotropy birefringence revealed Two isotropic points found (100) oriented platelets around 380 530 nm. The position point was to be strongly influenced technological conditions crystal growth platelet thickness, it being situated at 535 with thickness 223 µm. An band-pass filter constructed such placed between two Gran-Thompson prism crossed polarizers.
